Yu Darvish pitched his second re-hab game in the minors last Friday, threw his fastball at a searing 97 miles per hour several times and looked good.
He allowed one run on two hits in the second inning. But in his 50-pitch workload over three innings, he threw 30 strikes, and looked like the baseball strike king he was before an injury made him miss all of last season.
Friday he was pitching for the Round Rock, Texas, team against New Orleans. Round Rock is part of the Texas Rangers farm team system.
He is expected to go four innings in his next re-hab game in the minors with a return to the Texas Rangers anticipated late this month.
