to leave the Cyrus Cylinder on display in Iran for a little while longer. The cylinder went on exhibit September 12 and is due to be returned to London in mid-January. Meanwhile, the British Museum put out a written statement denying a rumor circulating widely in Tehran that the cylinder on display is just a copy. The cylinder has proven extremely popular. In the first six weeks it was on display, an average of almost 13,000 people visited it each week.
