American actor Matt Damon, Iranian-American artist Shirin Neshat (photo) and Peruvian tenor Juan Diego Florez were each given a Crystal Award this year at the World Economic Forum in Davos, Switzerland, for the their humanitarian contributions. Damon is active promoting safe water and sanitation around the world; Neshat was praised for her work in the area of gender, power and displacement, and Florez was cited for creating orchestras and choirs in poor areas of Peru to help the vulnerable poor.
