The head of a bus drivers’ group says the double bus crash last week that killed 63 people was a direct result of the elimination of subsidies by the government. One bus reportedly suffered a tire blowout and careened into the oncoming lane, hitting another bus head-on. Gholam-Reza Khademizadeh of the bus drivers’ group said that with the elimination of subsidies the bus firms have been forced to acquire low-quality parts.
