Much of the public believes that low quality gasoline is a major factor in air pollution in Iran. The Oil Ministry consistently denied that under President Ahmadi-nejad and insisted its gasoline was refined to European standards. But last week, it said it would launch a 100-day study of its refining process to measure its contribution to air pollution.
