President Raisi, following his usual practice, congratulated Christians of the world on their New Year’s Day January 1, although New Year’s Day is not a Christian holiday and the calendar is Roman with January and March named for the gods Janus and Mars and July and August named for emperors Julius and Augustus Caesar.
