The firm came under criticism for selling Iran technology that helped the regime track down dissidents.
Huawei said Saturday that it will “voluntarily restrict its business development [in Iran] by no longer seeking new customers and limiting its business activities with existing customers.” But it said it would continue pro- viding “necessary services” to communications networks al- ready delivered or in the process of delivery to Iran.
Huawei is one of the many firms targeted by the US-based United Against Nuclear Iran (UANI) for doing business with Iran. The organization is trying to embarrass western firms into ending their ties to Iran.
