A 4-year-old girl named Sadia has died after her parents left her in their car for hours while they attended a funeral service, local government officials reported. The child traveled with her family to Ramhormoz as temperatures hit 49 degrees Celsius (120 degrees Fahrenheit). The parents said the girl was sound asleep when they arrived at the funeral, so they left her asleep in the car. They said they forgot about her because they were “stressed” about the funeral.
