The Iran Veterinary Organization has culled 1.4 million chickens from farms in Khorasan South province to stem an onslaught of H5N8 bird flu. The area cleared was 15 kilometers around the poultry farm where infected chickens were found. Officials said the chicken farmer had tried to hide the infection out of fear of being fined.
