and PJAK forces, indicating that the ceasefire Iran boasted about in September isn’t holding.

The Islamic Republic launched what it termed a major offensive against PJAK last summer.  After several weeks, Iran said PJAK had been driven entirely out of Iran and had pledged to stay out and not to launch any further attacks inside Iran.

PJAK issued a statement on its website saying PJAK troops had clashed with the Pasdaran.  “This military operation and attack by the Islamic Republic occurs even though both sides declared a ceasefire as of September 5.  We have not violated that ceasefire.”

PJAK said it sustained no casualties in the fighting while killing nine Pasdaran.

Fars confirmed that there had been a clash.  It said one member of the Basij was killed and several PJAK militiamen wounded.
