Exports of Persian carpets have risen to $440 million in the first 10 months of the current Persian year, an increase of 14 percent compared to the same period last year. But US trade statistics show the United States bought $81 million worth of Persian carpets in 2010—sales that are now zero as Iranian imports have been banned since October.
