BURIAL

This earthen coffin with the remains of a child has been uncovered in Khuzestan province. The coffin is dated to the Parthian Empire (247 BCE- 224 CE). It was uncovered by accident. A team was demarcating a Parthian mound to prevent further depredations when a heavy rainfall exposed the burial. An intact jar and several other artifacts were found interred with the child. The site is Gol Rizvan near the city of Ramshir.
