The Islamic Republic and its Iraqi militia allies appear to many observers to be stoking disorder inside Syria in an effort to topple the new government.
The BBC said its investigation found about 50,000 accounts on X spreading highly sectarian rhetoric, hate speech and disinformation to Syrians.
The BBC said about 60 percent of the posts originated from Iran, Iraq, Yemen and Lebanon.
