Brazil perspective:

Brazil does want to have good relations and increased trade with Iran. But it isn’t about to join Iran’s anti-American initiatives, nor is it going to ignore Iran’s human rights standards. President Dilma Rousseff (photo) took office on New Year’s Day and changed the policy of outgoing President Inacio Lula da Silva. It is the sole notable change she has made in Lula’s policies. Last spring, Brazil voted to assign a UN human rights monitor to Iran. It has opposed UN sanctions on Iran in the past, but The Rio Times says Rousseff has decided to abandon that policy.
