Iran and Pakistan reopened their Taftan border crossing last week. The border post was shut by Iran last July after a suicide bomber was thought to have entered Iran at Taftan before blowing himself up at a mosque in Zahedan, killing 22 people. No one has explained what the border closure achieved.
