Booze rehab planned

The municipality of Tehran has issued a license allowing the first alcohol rehab center to be opened in the city.  The authorities have long refused to allow any such centers, seemingly not wanting to admit that there is an alcoholism problem in a country that bans alcohol.  Each patient enrolled will undergo treatment for at least 25 days.  The Public Health Department said the center is a pilot project and no more rehab sites will be approved until this one has operated long enough to evaluate its impact.
