Tehran launched its first bike-sharing project last month. Unlike many such systems in the United States, Tehran’s is dockless. You can leave a bike anywhere in the city you choose. A mobile phone app allows residents to sign in and find the nearest parked bike, which they can unlock with the phone. The project has begun with 5,000 bikes.
