President Joe Biden has announced the US will accept 125,000 refugees in the fiscal year that began October 1, the same figure as in the last fiscal year. However, the staff for processing refugees was so atrophied under President Donald Trump that only 20,000 refugees were actually admitted last year. Under the four years of Trump’s term, only 108,000 refugees were admitted to the United States.
