The Vatican says Pastor Mohammad-Hadi Bordbar, who was recently sentenced to 10 years in prison for proselytizing, was jailed in part for trying to distribute Bibles in Iran. Fides, the Vatican’s missionary news agency, said 6,000 Bibles were found stacked in his home in Rasht after his arrest. Fides said he planned to “evangelize by handing out 12,000 pocket Bibles.” In the United States, the Council on American Islamic Relations, has a major program distributing Qorans among Americans.
