Russian President Vladimir Putin (photo) told an Egyptian daily Sunday that Iran is entitled to enrich uranium. “Iran has a right to peaceful nuclear activity, including uranium enrichment, naturally under the control of the IAEA,” he said. He said it wasn’t easy to convince the other members of the Big Six of this. But the interim agreement reached with Iran a year ago concedes that Iran will be able to continue to enrich uranium. The issue, of which Putin appeared to be unaware, is the scale of enrichment not the fact of enrichment.
