April 21, 2017

Two people have been gunned down in Sistan va Baluchestan province this month in what appears to be a renewal of drive-by killings by Baluchi rebels.

The public relations manager of the province’s Education Department said a local schoolteacher was gunned down by unknown assailants Saturday.

“Akbar Balouchzehi was shot by unknown armed men while walking home from the village’s mosque after the Maghrib prayer with his two children in the village of Jalayi Kalag,” said Ali Moradi.

He added that the teacher’s two children were also injured in the shooting and have been taken to a hospital.

Last week, a commander with the Pasdaran was reported assassinated by two terrorists in the province.

Commander Ruhollah Aali was gunned down by “two Takfiri terrorists” while traveling to the Kurin District of Zahedan County.

Last year, an employee of the governor’s office in the city of Sarbaz in Sistan and Baluchestan was killed by unknown assailants. A few years before that another teacher was killed.  Shiite clerics and others have also been shot and killed periodically.
