Babol U. cited as best in Iran

A total of 29 universities in Iran have made it onto the list of the 1,250 best universities in the world that is compiled annually by The Times of London.

The newspaper’s educational supplement has been producing these rankings since 2004 and it is generally recognized as the leading such global listing.

Of the top 25 universities on the ranking, 18 are American, three are British and one each is from Switzerland, Canada, China and Singapore.  The top six, in order, are Oxford, Cambridge, Stanford, MIT, the California Institute of Technology and Harvard.

The tabulators use 13 performance indicators to judge how good each university is in terms of teaching, research, knowledge transfer and international outlook.
