Soccer player Omid Darbandi was found dead at the bottom of well last week, one week after he was kidnapped and his captors contacted his father demanding $30,000. The father said police told him his son was stabbed to death on the day of his capture. His body was tossed into a well in the Kahrizak district of south Tehran. Omid Darbandi played for the Saipa and Niroy-e Zamini professional teams.
