Iran International reports that Hossein Suri (photo), the head of Iran’s boxing federation, has defected while in Spain with the national team. Suri is from Sistan va Baluchistan province and has criticized the regime for killing protesters on his Instagram page. More than 30 athletes have defected in recent years, many of them women objecting to restrictions on women, others rejecting the regime’s rule forbidding them to compete against Israelis.
