Angry deputy quits:

to protest the refusal of the Majlis leadership to recognize his motion to summon President Ahmadi-nejad to the chamber for questioning. The Majlis said that 100 deputies signed the motion, enough to call in the president, but that 12 lawmakers later withdrew their signatures. Under Majlis rules, deputies may submit a resignation, but it must be approved by the legislature. It is not uncommon for deputies to file resignations to make a point, but for the resignation then to be rejected.
