Adiva Mirza Soleyman-Kalimia was from an Iranian Jewish family. She was born in Jerusalem in 1956 and became a naturalized American citizen after living several years in Miami, the Jewish Telegraph Agency reported. Later she married an Armenian Christian, Varjan Petrosian. She visited Iran three times in recent years. On her last visit, she and her husband were both arrested. The United States announced they were both hanged May 14 at Evin prison for undisclosed reasons. The Jewish Telegraph Agency said she had been arrested on adultery charges. It didn’t say why her husband was arrested.
