Last month, the Judiciary said it would deal with censorship of stage productions, something long handled by the Culture Ministry. Now a Judiciary official has unveiled plans to start a new court to look into media offenses. While the Judiciary has long acted to close offending newspapers, routine media cases have been handled by a press jury operating under the Culture Ministry. Now the Judiciary wants to deal with those offenses too.
