It was months ago that the United States refused to issue a visa to Hamid Aboutalebi, whom Iran had named its ambassador to the UN. Iran continues to refuse to name another envoy, so Aboutalebi continues to sit in Tehran as an ambassador without a mission. Tehran wants the UN to flay Washington for its refusal, but the UN committee that deals with such matters has refused to do anything.
