‘Abysmal’ human rights in US

June 22, 2018

The Majlis has issued a 47-page report on the “abysmal record” of the United States on human rights. The report says American violations of human rights date back to the colonial era when slavery was allowed. It does not point out that slavery was legal in Iran at that time and was not abolished until 1928. The report says that today the United States “systematically and blatantly violates human rights and has not been accountable for that.” The report cites many examples of human rights violations in the United States, although many of the examples are cases that are before the courts.
