Foreign Minister Mohammad-Javad Zarif, US Secretary of State John Kerry and EU foreign policy chief Catherine Ashton met in Oman Sunday and Monday. Before they started nuclear talks, they met with Omani Foreign Minister Yusef bin Alawi, who greeted Ashton with a buss on the cheek (photo). It is quite normal for Omani officials to greet Western women that way. But you would have thought he had engaged in public sex from the Saudi reaction in the twittersphere. The slams on Yusef, however, swiftly brought angry retorts from people calling the Saudi complainers “fools” and lambasting them for “pettiness.”
