A young leopard that fell and was trapped in the crevice between two boulders (below) has been rescued in Lorestan province. It took several hours for officials from the Environmental Protection Agency to free the injured animal. The leopard was treated for injuries and subsequently released into the wild again. It isn’t known if this might be the offspring of the mama leopard that wandered into the city of Khorramabad last month, was struck by a car and killed. An autopsy showed that leopard had recently given birth and searchers were on the lookout 
for her cubs.
