Health officials in Ahvaz, which has the most polluted air of any city in the world according to the UN World Health Organization, report that 1,500 people went to city emergency rooms for treatment last Monday night for respiratory problems. The Mehr news agency quoted officials as saying something in the rain that fell that night was believed to be causing shortness of breath among Ahvazis.
