Republicans in Congress—and some Democrats as well—are pushing hard to bring new sanctions legislation to a vote this month. There is a lot of talk in the media about this. A sanctions bill passed the House months ago and the issue now is the Senate. The one man who will decide whether any sanctions legislation will come to the Senate floor is Democratic Majority Leader Harry Reid of Nevada (photo). He has remained mum. That is a good signal no sanctions bill will come up this year.
