The Fars news agency reports that five Pasdaran have been killed in a gun battle with “counterrevolutionaries” near the Kurdish town of Baneh. The area has been quiet for two years since the Pasdaran launched a major offensive against Kurdish rebels and drove them from the border region. The gunfight suggests the rebels may be coming back.
