The commander of Iran’s Navy has criticized Azerbaijan for its recent purchases of Israeli missiles and said Iran is “monitoring the situation.” Of course, when any other country criticizes Iran, the Islamic Republic angrily complains that the other country is interfering in Iran’s internal affairs. Rear Admiral Habibollah Sayyari (photo) said the Caspian is a sea of peace and friendship and the Azeri missile purchase threatens to undermine that. He didn’t say why the recent launch in the Caspian of a large warship by Iran did not undermine the sea of peace.
