says she was often shocked at how scenes were presented on the hit BBC program.
Melody Hossaini, 27, came sixth of 16 contestants in last year’s contest. With the show about to start another season, she told the Sunday Mercury of Birmingham that conflicts and outbursts were actually encouraged.
“The Apprentice is, first and foremost, a TV show and certain scenes and outbursts in the show are definitely encouraged,” she said. “I can’t say any more than that because I am not allowed to, but I would remind anyone . . . that it is just entertainment and not to take it too seriously.”
Melody said, “They do not re-take many scenes, and when they do it is often just to get quotes correct, but it was always interesting to see scenes played back on TV and think to yourself, ‘Oh, it happened like that, did it? OK then’.”
Melody is now the CEO of an award winning social enterprise, InspirEngage International. Lord Sugar, the host of the British version of “The Apprentice,” described her as “a woman of exceptional ability.”
Melody says that, in spite of the editing, she would encourage anyone who qualifies to go on the show.
