On Saturday, Brig. Gen. Mohammad-Reza Naqdi (photo) said the reformists and Green Revolution advocates, now called seditionists by the ruling system, are the “new monafaqin.” Monafaqin means hypocrites and is used in the Islamic Republic to refer to the Mojahedin-e Khalq. Naqdi said the seditionists “have collaborated many times with the US and the Zionists, but still try to act as if their actions were justified by saying they follow the path of the Imam [Ayatollah Khomeini] and the revolution.”
