Basiji describes what’s wrong with Islamic rep.

The Tehran prosecutor said a few weeks ago that the man cursing Faezeh Hashemi had been identified from cellphone video and that he would be arrested and charged.

But Rooz Online recently interviewed the man, Saeed Tajik, who said he had not been arrested for publicly chewing out Faezeh. He indicated that he faces no charges. He then proceeded to mock the prosecutor.

Tajik is an active Basiji and the head of the Basij unit at the Tehran oil refinery.

In his interview with Rooz Online, he called Faezeh a “slut” and a “whore.” But he wasn’t any kinder to the Tehran prosecutor, Abbas Jafari-Dolatabadi.

“I told him that we have had unrest for 20 months,” Tajik said. “You know, that every time you arrested this slut [Faezeh], she said she was eating a sandwich. What kind of sandwich is this? They [the opposition] have crossed all the red lines. They have insulted God, the Prophet, the Imam, our imam [referring to Ayatollah Khomeini] and the current Leader.

“None of you [prosecutors] were moved or did anything. Most officials, particularly those in the seminaries, have been silent. Who is more senior—Rafsanjani or the Hidden Imam? Rafsanjani or the Supreme Leader? They have insulted all our sacred values. But when I called this bitch [Faezeh] an ass, everybody felt insulted,” Tajik railed.

Tajik certainly doesn’t mince his words. And he serves as an example of what many on the extreme think and say. Men like Tajik are in many ways the backbone of the regime. And their strong words and deeply felt disgust cannot, therefore, be ignored by the regime establishment.

Nooshabeh Amiri, the woman reporter from Rooz Online who interviewed Tajik, said his language about political figures was harsh and disrespectful, but that he always treated her courteously and referred to her as “sister” and “haj khanoum,” terms of respectability.

Asked in a telephone interview what he said to Faezeh, even though his words were captured on the video, Tajik said, “I did say that I would tear her apart, would hurt here, yes. I said it because the Judiciary did not do anything and did not confront them. This volcano inside me erupted. They should expect worse things. But since the Leader has said that insults should not be sued, we will respect that.” Tajik went on in the interview to refer to Faezeh as a “slut,” “whore,” “ass” and “bitch.”

Tajik also told Rooz Online: “Even the Leader has said that if the authorities do not respond to your calls, then you can take things into your own hands. So, we want to take things into our own hands.”

Actually, a few months ago Supreme Leader Ali Khamenehi specifically said that the public must not take matters into their own hands, but only report violations to the proper authorities.

Tajik’s said his target was the Judiciary—although he later went far beyond the Judiciary. “The Judiciary has really messed things up,” he said. “All our complaints are against the Judiciary. They have not acted properly. I have no doubt that [Judiciary Chairman Sadeq] Larijani is one of them, too.”

Rooz Online asked Tajik to name some other names. “I cannot tell you over the phone,” he said, “because they are listening. I am not afraid of anyone except God.”

But as he got wound up, he went beyond the Judiciary and the Rafsanjani family. Rooz Online asked why he was silent about Esfandiar Rahim-Mashai, the president’s top aide who has spoken of an Iranian-style Islam, if he was truly offended at violations of Islam.

“Mashai is all dirt and filth,” Tajik shot back. “Don’t believe that I am not protesting other things.”

Rooz Online said that Ahmadi-nejad supports Mashai.

“Ahmadi-nejad is wrong,” Tajik responded. “I will serve anyone who is in line with the Leader and anyone who crosses him will be my bloody enemy. This is what the Qoran says and what the Prophet said.”

Asked his views of the disorders since the June 2009 presidential elections, Tajik went into overdrive.

“Look, when someone stands in the way of religion, then, as the Imam [Khomeini] said, they must be confronted. I will tear the mouth off any person who comes to Friday prayers holding his girlfriend’s hand, licking an ice cream cone and wanting to perform prayers with his shoes on. They are not the people. They must be executed. Read the Qoran. It says that whoever stands in the way of God’s Prophet, religion and God, his hands and foot must be cut off. This is God’s order. Anyone who stands in the way of the Islamic regime and wants to stomp on its values must be torn to pieces.”
