The Pentagon called the report “ridiculous,” an Israeli official called it “unfounded” and the Iraqi air force commander called it “groundless.” PressTV did not quote any of them. PressTV said it got its information from a source close to Moqtada as-Sadr’s very anti-American political group. It said the Israeli combat planes at the Iraqi airbase were the F-15, F-16, F-18 and F-22. A simple web check would have told PressTV that Israel doesn’t fly the F-18 or F-22.
