First-time moms are getting much older than a few decades ago. The average age of Iranian women giving birth for the first time stands at 27.4 years in the first half of the current Persian year, according to the National Organization for Civil Registration. Even in rural areas it was high at 24.3 years while in urban areas it was 28.2 years. First time dads averaged 32.3 years of age.
