Majlis Deputy Salman Es’haqi, spokesman for the Majlis Health Committee, says there is a serious medicine shortage because the Central Bank has refused to hand over to Iran’s pharmaceutical firms the approved foreign exchange needed for such imports. The regime blames US sanctions for the shortage, while claiming it has foiled sanctions. A dozen years ago, then-President Mahmud Ahmadi-nejad fired his health minister after she complained of the very same problem as the Majlis deputy.
