Iranian media gave immense attention this month to a visit to Tehran by UAE national security adviser Shaikh Tahnoon bin Zayed Al-Nahyan (photo). It is rare for any UAE official to visit Iran, so Iranians saw it as significant with hints that the UAE may be less hostile to Iran. Of course, the country is vastly expanding its military and US Secretary of State Antony Blinken visited the UAE the same month the Shaikh visited Tehran.
