The commander of the Army ground forces in the northwest, Brig. Gen. Ali Hajiloo (photo), has announced that his troops are prepared to give a “harsh response” to any threats to Iran up to 40 kilometers (25 miles) from Iran’s borders. But no country has any authority to take military action even one meter beyond its borders into another country, let alone 40 kilometers. Yet, no one in Iran has said anything about his threat to send troops into Iraq and/or Turkey.
