The EU parliament last week passed a resolution denouncing the Islamic Republic for “assaulting” human rights. Citing long sentences against activists such as Nasrin Sotoudeh, Shiva Nazar-Ahari and Mohammad Seifzadeh, the EU described these as part of “a systematic assault on human rights lawyers and others in Iran.
