The government of Jordan has recalled its ambassador to Iran and will not replace him. The embassy, however, will remain open and staffed, so Jordan is not severing relations, just reducing them. Jordan said it was acting to protest Iran’s interference in the Arab world. Morocco, Saudi Arabia and the UAE have severed relations with Iran in recent years.
