A court has sentenced eight men to death for aiding the Islamic State attack last summer on the Majlis and the Khomeini Mausoleum. All eight are Iranian citizens. Another 18 men have been charged and are awaiting trial for allegedly aiding in the attacks by five Iranian Kurdish gunmen, all of whom were killed at the site of their attacks, which killed 18 innocent people. Meanwhile, another court has sentenced 16 Iranian women to prison terms for going to Syria to join the Islamic State. The Judiciary said they were arrested on their return to Iran and had not taken part in any terrorist acts in Iran.
