The head of the Government Trading Corporation says Iran will soon export about 3 million tons of wheat, a stupendous amount. Iran grew about 14.5 million tons of wheat this crop year. A major revolutionary goal is to make Iran self-sufficient in wheat and allow it to export wheat. So far, in every year but one since the revolution, Iran has had to import wheat.
