The National Iranian American Council (NIAC) has plans to formally established a lobbying arm this week to be called NIAC Action. NIAC is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization under the tax code and is not allowed to lobby Congress. NIAC Action will be a 501(c)4 organization with legal authority to engage in lobbying. “We’ve got all this money on the table, all this political influence that’s not being utilized,” said Jamal Abdi (photo), NIAC Action’s executive director. “Now we can actually start playing the full political game.”
