September 12-14 In the new Global Competitiveness Index for 2014-15 issued by the World Economic Forum, Iran ranked 83rd of the 144 countries ranked, a sharp drop from its 66th place ranking two years ago. Iran scored highest in health and primary education, but lowest in market efficiency, financial market development and technological readiness. For the fifth straight year, Switzerland was ranked first, followed by Singapore and the United States.
