If you read the Iran Times story last week about the Iranian car that raced in the American Solar Challenge, you might be interested in the story run in the Iran Daily in Tehran. It said Iran came in eighth of 23 teams that “raced across seven states.” Actually, the Iranian car came in eighth of eight teams that raced.
Iran Daily also said that the Iranian car won the award for the best foreign team in the race. Actually, there was no such award. Furthermore, the only other foreign car in the race, from Polytechnique in Montreal, came in fourth. Apart from those errors, the five-paragraph story was accurate. The Montreal team had an interesting observation. It said the cars in the race used only as much energy as a hair dryer.
